Our Love Story

HER POV

Our story began in the most unassuming way.

I first met Ifeanyi in November 2016 at a Christmas get-together at my uncle’s house while I was still in university. There were no sparks or dramatic moment, certainly no thought that the person I had just met would one day become my husband. We simply stayed connected on social media and carried on with our lives.

A few years later, in December 2019, Ifeanyi started posting about forex trading. Curious to learn more, I sent him a message, completely unaware that one simple conversation would eventually change both of our lives. We exchanged numbers, started learning and trading together, and somewhere between conversations about charts, wins and plenty of losses, a genuine friendship began to grow.

By February 2020, I realized my feelings for him were becoming a little more than friendly. But I was determined not to mix business with pleasure 😂, so I kept it to myself.

That year, as I was finishing nursing school, life felt especially demanding. Through the stress, long days and the occasional trading loss, Ifeanyi became one of my safest places. He reassured me when I doubted myself, listened patiently to my rants, offered advice when I needed it and, sometimes, simply listened. It was in those ordinary moments that I began to see just how gentle, thoughtful and kind he was.

By August 2021, we finally stopped pretending there wasn’t something more between us. The feelings were undeniable, the butterflies were very real, and on September 20, 2021, we officially began our relationship.

Over the years, our love grew alongside our friendship. It wasn’t a perfectly straight road; there were beautiful seasons, difficult ones, lessons, time apart and moments that brought us back to one another with a deeper understanding of who we were and what we wanted.

By September 2025, one thing had become clear: we wanted to do life together, to build a home, a family and a future side by side.

On July 13, 2026, we got engaged, and on September 2, 2026, we officially became husband and wife.

Looking back, we’re grateful that what began so quietly became something so meaningful. God has carried our story through every season, and as we celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people we love, we’re filled with gratitude for how far He has brought us, and even more excitement for everything still ahead.

His POV

The first time I met Chisom was in November 2016, at a family friend’s house. She was new to Canada, and we said hi, introduced ourselves, had a few conversations during the event that day and that was it. No sparks, no big moment. We followed each other on Instagram and Snapchat, and for the next three years that was the extent of our story.

Then came December 2019. Her family hosted a Christmas party and invited several families, mine included. That night we reconnected, and I had such a fun time hanging out with her and her family. About a week later, she messaged me. She’d seen my posts about tutoring and wanted to join my trading group so I could teach her how to trade. I onboarded her, and she quickly became my favourite student 😂. She was sharp, picked things up fast, and somewhere along the way, we became real friends.

That year was a tough one for her at school, and she started reaching out to talk, to vent about school and life and whatever was weighing on her. I was happy to be that listening ear. I didn’t know it then, but those conversations were building something that would last.

By August 2021, we were going on dates and finally confessing how we felt about each other. How could I not fall for her? Her kindness, her caring spirit, the love she showed me, her amazing personality. Chisom lights up every room she walks into and is always the centre of attention, so fun and full of life. And I’d be lying if I didn’t mention her cooking. My wife is an incredible chef 😂😂. In September 2021, we made our relationship official.

The years that followed gave us beautiful moments and amazing experiences. We grew in love and in friendship. We also walked through hard seasons, including time apart, and those seasons shaped us too. In September 2025, on the very same day as our anniversary, we both came to the same realization: we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

In February 2026, I made my intentions known to her parents and received their blessing. On July 13th, 2026, I asked her to marry me, and she said yes! And on September 2nd, 2026, we became husband and wife.

God has kept us through every season of our friendship and our relationship, and I can’t imagine doing life with anyone else. I’m so excited for the road ahead and all the love we get to share.
